Kitten Vaccinations

When you bring your kitten home it is important to help its developing immune system become protected against some very serious diseases. Kitten vaccines are given in order to build an army of antibodies to keep your new family member safe.

When should kittens get their first vaccinations?

The first dose of vaccine should be given around 8 weeks of age. At this time, a full physical exam will be performed to ensure your kitten is healthy and growing well.

How often does my kitten need to be vaccinated?

The kitten vaccine series is set-up in 3 sets which are administered at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age. After these vaccines, your kitten will need to receive vaccines yearly.

Does my kitten only need core vaccines?

The FVRCP vaccine is given 3 times and Rabies is administered once at 16 weeks of age. It is recommended that your kitten receive a 2 booster series for Feline Leukemia Virus as young cats are the most at risk and the most likely to get outside.
